It seems at the darkest moment, the true America emerges. Despite threats by law enforcement (sheriff in FL) to military deployments, the true Americans gathered. “No Violence,” “Shame” was the cry. To the National Guard and Marines, no violence in return. Mr. Garcia’s case reminds of Ernesto Miranda. Despite his guilt, his arrest and interrogation led to reaffirmation of due process: the Miranda Rights. Garcia’s case may well lead again to affirming due process. It may underscore the rot of the Trump Administration.

Although I’m a news junkie, you always manage to come up with telling details that I’d missed. Thank you for making sense of the world every day (however depressing it might be).

Restacked, I’m a proud ‘Mary fan’ and Substack is where to get.your.news. Spread it wisely widely, encourage our country’s turn and backing truth. Stay the course loves, which is now setting us back on track . We have a lot to straighten up.

I will again reiterate my longest message ..this whole charade was a lesson we all needed, to lean ( and lead!) our shoulders again to the greatest humane effort . Equality, peace, ending poverty, and cleaning up after ourselves. We can clean up the messes made by ego and greed too…by recognizing it first .

Write-on!

We participated in the No Kings pageant in the small town of Paonia, Colorado, a population of about 1400. Hundreds of us chanted and waved our homemade signs; my favorite mounted high on a pitchfork that read: ICE is for COCKTAILS! Our local police were very accommodating, blocking the main drag and being helpful (I discovered later that a threat had been made so the peace officers were present to ensure it stayed peaceful). The assassinations in MN were horrendous and the timing most relevant. Vigilance is the name of the game now. Even when the tide turns there is a lot of misinformation fueling "victim me" fearful, self pity corruption of the spirit. It will take extraordinary restructuring to get big money out of politics, make voting mandatory like they do in Australia (best way to stop gerrymandering) and for god's sake taint the drinking water with that newly discovered chemical twist on LSD that eliminated any bad trippy stuff and makes you feel one with everything. Humanity's DNA needs an evolutionary leap beyond this obsession with separation from nature and this "them and us" duality delusion. I think fearful self pity has set a dangerous course and needs to be treated like a disease. Ridicule aggravates the wound further. My son suffers from fearfulness which turns to self pity, anger, hatred...feeling unloved or unlovable leads to derangement...Trumpism is like a club for pitiful self haters to act out their anguish against the world. Happy creative people make them feel jealous. I mean just look at the folks in Trumpland. They have frown creases on the their faces. When they do laugh it's to leer at some misfortune they are planning.
