Good words to remember. The old ways will no longer work. If we are to go forward with the Democratic Party it must have the courage to change its course. The people have been disappointed twice with the skapegoating of Bernie Sanders in 2015 and 2020. Kamala Harris asked today, after Congress approved Trump's BBB, for donations to the Democratic National Committee????? They never learn!
Yes, your voice is what we need-I remember when Bernie ran for president and his supporters were horrified at the status quo, and were promptly shut out. We need a new path forward!
I was a registered Democrat when I was younger because there wasn't a choice. When I moved to Connecticut, A Connecticut Party was a going thing, so I joined there; when I moved back to New York, I joined the Working Families Party and have been there ever since. The Democratic Party doesn't speak to me now as it did when I was a kid, plain and simple.
Today I received an email from the Social Security Administration. It was a notice that SSA APPLAUDS the results of the BiG Beautiful Bill because it will help seniors tax wise. I've never this usage of a government institution for propaganda purposes so blatantly before. It made me feel nauseous.
Mary, thanks for keeping us up on what the DNC is pulling now... or continuing to pull, I should say. I voted Dem for 40 years, but started to feel really uncomfortable in 2016 when it became obvious to me that Hillary Clinton was lying to us by claiming that the State Dept. had approved her offsite server. I became vocally critical of the Democratic Party, and found that Democrats can be just as loyalty demanding and mean as the GOP. Vote Blue no matter who. I voted for Jill Stein that year and I wrote in George McGovern (my 1st vote) in 2020 (Biden was a horrible liar too.). The Bernie Sanders campaign was the first time I got involved with phone banking. The energy for Bernie in my area was incredible (KY). He had so many young people so enthusiastic about him. But the DNC only saw him as a threat, and they threw out Bernie along with all those young people. Completely stupid! He still draws tens of thousands at his rallies! There ARE some great Dems now.... I am thinking of Rep. Melanie Stansbury of NM....who may have some strength to steer the party in the right direction, but I'm not going to put my hopes there too strongly.
The hard truth is your country is divided by deep rooted racism and hatred generated between just 2 parties. No diversity, no choice which is why half your citizens who could vote , didn’t.
Trumps team 2025 have played that brilliantly to their advantage, and even now his supporters who will be severely disadvantaged, are rejoicing in the havoc and destruction that’s occurring .
The cruelty and dehumanising is monumental and is only just beginning. Policies are in force to create fear and a subservient workforce. I think it’s going to be with you for a long time . Hope I’m wrong, sorry
This is scary truth….
